A new cultural exchange program between China and Nigeria launched yesterday in Lagos, aiming to foster deeper understanding and appreciation between the two nations.
The year-long program will feature:
– Art exhibitions showcasing traditional and contemporary works
– Musical performances blending Chinese and African influences
– Film festivals highlighting both countries’ cinema traditions
– Language classes and cultural workshops for students and professionals
“Cultural understanding is the foundation of strong international relationships,” said the program director at the launch event. “Through these exchanges, we create connections that extend beyond economic or political interests.”
The initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen people-to-people bonds between China and countries across Africa, with similar programs planned for other major cities in the coming years.
Local participants have shown significant interest, with the first series of workshops already oversubscribed and additional sessions being planned to meet demand.
